Building rockets as a Chief Architect at Blue Origin


Gary is one of the most renowned aerospace engineers. They are responsible for setting the technical direction of human spaceflight programs at Blue Origin, a company started by Amazon.com Founder Jeff Bezos. Blue Origin aims to create a future where millions of people live and work in space to benefit the Earth.

He led the team that designed New Shepard - a fully reusable human spaceflight vehicle. He flew on New Shepard to space himself in April 2022, making him the only lead designer of a rocket ever to fly it to space.

Gary has spent over 20 years leading teams that design and fly reusable rockets, space capsules and Moon landers. He has devoted his life to working towards a future where space travel is as routine as air travel, and we can use the limitless resources of outer space.
