DUSTEE is a pioneering startup led by a small team of 3 high school students: Amir Akrami, Alexandr Waage and Bruno Bartůněk, with a mission to reshape public awareness about air quality and inspire proactive measures for its improvement. Our core mission is centered on acquiring real, validated data, presented in a user-friendly format. This drive is fueled by the severe consequences of poor air quality, including health problems, reduced quality of life, and loss of life. Our relentless pursuit of innovative solutions empowers individuals to take proactive steps for a healthier future.
Our platform empowers users to make well-informed decisions based on our recommendations. It enables individuals to gauge whether outdoor activities are advisable or if it's better to remain indoors with an active air purification system.
DUSTEE not only simplifies the comprehension of air quality data but also employs advanced mathematical models with a robust 80% predictive accuracy rate. These models anticipate air pollution levels for the next 24 hours at specific measurement points. To enhance clarity and accessibility, we have adopted the Air Quality Index (AQI) methodology, translating intricate pollutant data into easily digestible values.
Designed as a web application, DUSTEE harnesses the latest web technologies to offer a fast and highly responsive user experience. What sets us apart is our comprehensive API offerings, providing seamless integration opportunities for other companies and applications.
We take pride in being the first platform in the Czech Republic to unite the extensive data resources of the Czech National Hydrometeorological Institute and the Sensor.community network. This collaboration provides registered users with unprecedented access to historical data and trends previously reserved for a select cadre of experts only.
Our project aligns with multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):
1. Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3): By providing real-time air quality data and recommendations, our project promotes better health outcomes, helping individuals make informed decisions to protect themselves from the adverse effects of poor air quality.
2. Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11): Our initiative contributes to creating more sustainable and resilient urban areas by raising awareness of air quality issues and empowering communities to take actions that lead to cleaner, healthier cities.
3. Life on Land (SDG 15): Improved air quality supports terrestrial ecosystems by reducing pollution and minimizing the negative impact of air pollutants on land-based life forms, fostering biodiversity and preserving natural habitats.
4. Climate Action (SDG 13): Addressing air quality is a fundamental aspect of mitigating climate change. Our project encourages behaviors that reduce air pollution, which, in turn, helps combat climate change and supports global efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
