The Jury selected the following winners out of 33 student projects from 19 countries nominated (see nominations) at the FPY23 Conference on Nov 9, 2023.

    My project leverages multimodal neuroimaging and machine learning to develop enhanced brain age prediction models for early detection of neurodegenerative disease risk. This could enable personalized interventions to maintain cognitive health with advancing age.

    African Leadership University, Rwanda
    We grant medical students worldwide access to quality Healthcare education through virtual reality simulations that improve upon traditional training methods. This solves the lack of quality training facilities that are too expensive and inaccessible and, secondly, the lack of doctors who cannot train students due to their tight schedules.

  • #3 UV lamp for disinfection with solar charging

    Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria
    Ultraviolet light is used for disinfection by killing microorganisms. With a UV lamp water or room air can be disinfected quickly. A solar panel used for charging the internal battery is providing autonomous power. The aim of the project is to achieve UN sustainable goal for clean water and sanitation.
